Finding your go-to outfit

Anthropologie peplum birdie top (old, other options I love: 1, 2, 3) // J.Crew boyfriend jeans (last seen in this post) // Steve Madden nude heel // Forever 21 faux leather crossbody (light pink, only $20!) // Kendra Scott Danielle earrings

Do you have a go-to outfit that you can always count on to make you feel confident and chic? If not, then email me because I want to help you find one - every girl should have an outfit they can count on to make them feel beautiful! Today's look is an outfit I can count on. It's one that I feel most "me" in. While I wouldn't wear this look every day, it is something I would definitely reach for on a date-night or a night out with friends. So, what is it about this outfit that makes me feel like a million bucks? Here are my three reasons:

  1. The heels! A good pair of heels (that you can actually walk in) force you to walk with your head held high and to put your best foot forward. Plus, heels instantly make you feel like you are taking care of some serious business so they give you a little swagger in my opinion. My new trick for walking in high heels: buy a pair that's a half size smaller than what you would normally buy. This keeps them snug on your feet so if they end up stretching a little they won't slide off.
  2. As much as I love dressing fashionably, if I'm not comfortable, than I am not going to feel confident. And, I am guessing you feel the same way so always opt for comfort first and foremost. This is why I chose these J.Crew boyfriend jeans. They are the most comfortable pair of pants I own. They're one of the few pairs that fit me well and the denim is so soft. However, as comfortable items typically go, these jeans on their own are not very dressy. Thus, reason number three for why I love this look…
  3. Striking a perfect balance between dressy and casual. When picking a look to wear for a night out I always struggle with deciding between dressing up or dressing more casual. I never want to be under dressed but also don't want to stick out in a crowd by being completely overdressed. So, when I run into this issue, I pair my more masculine pieces and silhouettes (boyfriend jeans and a leather jacket) with my girly pieces (a peplum top and heels). Thus, striking the perfect balance!

Heels, comfort, and striking the perfect balance between dressy and casual are requirements for my go-to look. If you're in need of a go-to look, then I'm hoping this post may help you find one! If you already have a signature look, I'd love to know, what about that look makes you feel beautiful and confident?

Hope you have a great weekend and a Happy Easter!
